1 of 4 hand selected Icaro phenos in the Mallacht’s Plants Garden.

Named “Atreyu” because it has long, prominent spines. They made me think of swords, warriors, Atreyu!  (From the movie The Neverending Story) See below:

Grown from Icaros DNA genetics, straight from Peru.

All of the 4 Icaro Phenotypes in the garden have officially been named:

Icaro Pheno 1 = “Moon Child”

Icaro Pheno 2 = “Nubs”

Icaro Pheno 3 = “Atreyu”

Icaro Pheno 4 = “Shawty” (shortest spines out of all 4 of them by far)

Both “Moon Child” and “Atreyu” are references to the movie “The Neverending Story”

“Nubs” is because of the notchy areoles it has. A reference to the song by the same name by NOFX
